The Performance Painting

The Performance is a special painting I created to not only push myself beyond my boundaries as a realist artist but also create a fun piece that represents dance in the inner cities. Growing up in Chicago we loved to dance and it plays a major part in most people's lives. I wanted this abstract painting to have an urban expression of dance during a time in my youth that I once knew. This takes me back to the early 1980s and how the human spirit was captured through music and dance in my community.
